The Sea of Stars on Vaadhoo Island in the Maldives written by: chrisanmad Wandering on the stars while sensing the calming and reassuring splash of the sea? This is an experience I thought was impossible until I set foot on the splendid island of Vaadhoo in Maldives.
Dubbed as “The Sea of Stars,” the Coast of Vaadhoo Island is a seemingly typical body of water that surpasses reality as the dark started to engulf the overarching hint of daylight. Whenever the night comes, the sea renders a dazzling display of lights randomly twinkling and making almost every portion of the place interesting.
Looking at this parade of lights brought an exciting feeling that transcends through the senses. A walk across the stage wherein the gleaming elements perform is tantamount to drifting through space. Before I knew it, I have already brought myself into a trip across the stars, the planets, and the universe. Everything was ethereal yet it felt and seemed so real.
Sitting along the coast has allowed me to think and ponder on certain things. It gave me peace. Time seemed to slow down while I just let my thoughts ran at the back of my head. My imagination has walked across the bubbliest, the cheeriest, and the most moments stories I have encountered.
When I observed my surroundings, I was able to understand why Vaadhoo Island’s attracts millions of tourists from all over the world every year. I could see in everybody’s face the joy and amazement that radiates from the glowing blue waves. I could hear the laughter and the random chit chats from the crowd. Everybody seemed very much delighted and happy. Groups were taking photos to forever account the amazing experience. Lovers and couples were holding each other hands, seemingly enjoying their journeys across the stars. Each and every individual was smiling and pointing at random areas, as if what they are seeing is nothing but a faux vision.
For the typical people, the scene is only rendered by the bioluminescent phytoplankton wandering across the surface of the water. For many of the tourists, it was just nature painting and exhibiting its wonders. For the paramours, it was a testament of their love for each other. For the children, it was an extension of the dream that they have during the Christmas Eve or the night after their birthdays. For me, it was an experience. It was a great experience that enabled me to see the sea perfectly danced and blended with the sky. It was a dream that has turned into reality.
